Job Summary:
Heitmeyer Consulting is looking for a hands-on GCP Architect.  This person will be expected to make decisions independently and guide teams when it comes to GCP.  This person will have to communicate and relay requirements to development teams.
 
Job Description:

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert to the organization for HNB cloud end-to-end architecture, networking, provisioning, and management
  • Define and apply cloud design patterns, based on the HNB application portfolio, as a basis for deploying services to the cloud
  • Back decisions with research and the “why,” and articulate several options, the pros, and cons for each, and provide recommendations
  • Maintain overall industry knowledge on latest trends, technology, etc.
  • Develop solutions architecture and evaluate architectural alternatives for private, public and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services
  • Contribute to DevSecOps development activities and complex development tasks
  • Research, propose, and design patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery for applications
  • Provide thought leadership to fellow team members across business and technical project dimensions solving complex business requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of Google Cloud Platform
  • 7 + years of experience spanning at least two IT disciplines, including technical architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management or operations
  • Cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability)
  • Infrastructure as Code software and templates: Terraform, CDM, CFT, ARM, etc.
  • Knowledge of Security as Code principles, policy, best practices, and tools
  • DevOps Principles & Practices
