Job Description: ServiceNow ITAM Delivery Lead – SAM

Heitmeyer is seeking an ITAM SAM Lead for our client, a global financial institution headquartered in Chicago.  The successful candidate will be a highly skilled and detail-oriented ServiceNow IT Asset Management (ITAM) Analyst with a focus on Software Asset Management (SAM). The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing the company’s software assets using the ServiceNow platform.

Required skills:

• Strong leadership skills – someone to drive and own SAM for ITAM
• ITAM – extensive technical expertise in ITAM processes
  • including hands-on experience with the ServiceNow ITAM module and AMDB (Asset Management Database) / CMDB (Configuration Management Database)
  • Proven track record of leading successful ITAM projects from initiation to completion
• Service Now (SNOW) – focus on Software Asset Management (SAM) – minimum 5-8 years
• Flexera
• Commitment to driving excellence in service delivery
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Stakeholder management across all levels
• Analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement

Preferred skills:

• Certification in IT Asset Management (e.g., Certified Software Asset Manager – CSAM)
• ITIL v3/v4 Foundation
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 10+ years overall experience

Key Responsibilities:
1.????Project Leadership:

• Lead a team of SAM analysts to deliver high-quality solutions that meet project objectives and stakeholder expectations.
• Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocations in coordination with project managers and stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring adherence to project timelines and best practices.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, addressing concerns, providing status updates, and managing expectations.

2.???? SAM Implementation:

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and define solution designs for SAM initiatives.
• Configure and customize the ServiceNow SAM module to meet project requirements, including workflows, data fields, and integrations.
• Expert in License compliance (e.g., software licensing and allocation, software contracts/agreements, software auditing)
• Strong/ Proficient Flexera skills
• Familiarity of additional Discovery Tools (e.g. Defender, JAMF, SCCM)
• Conduct testing and quality assurance activities to validate the functionality and performance of ITAM solutions.
• Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) and provide training and documentation to end-users as needed.

3.????Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities to streamline and optimize ITAM processes within the organization.
• Recommend enhancements to the ServiceNow platform to improve ITAM functionality and usability.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and drive operational efficiency.

4.????Stakeholder Engagement:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including IT leaders, business unit representatives, and external vendors.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide project updates, and address concerns.
• Ensure alignment between ITAM initiatives and broader organizational goals and objectives.

5.????Work Allocation and Productivity REQ Management:

• Allocate work assignments to SAM analysts based on skill sets, workload, and project priorities.
• Monitor and manage the productivity of team members, ensuring timely completion of deliverables and adherence to quality standards.
• Identify resource constraints or bottlenecks and take proactive measures to address them.

6.????Regulatory/Compliance Reporting:

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to IT asset management.
• Generate reports and documentation to support regulatory audits and compliance assessments.
• Stay informed about changes in relevant regulations and update ITAM-SAM processes and procedures
