Role: Senior Program Manager – Payments & Cash Services Business
Location: Chicago – must work hybrid onsite 3 days / week
Duration: 15+ month Contract, potential for FTE Conversion in 2026
Start date: March 2025
Our client, a global financial institution headquartered in Chicago, has a requirement for a seasoned professional to be a hands on Capability Lead to drive activity in the US for their priority programs in the Global Payments & Cash Services business, including the EBM program (Enterprise Banking Model).
The successful candidate will work closely with the Global Head of Strategy for Global Payments & Cash Services and the leadership team in the UK to drive activity in the US, put governance and plans in place, and develop/implement key programs.
For example, be a proxy for business in relation to:
- US requirements for Custody cash balances
- US Cash delivery channels as needed.
Activities include:
- Aligning business leaders on investment decisions.
- Bringing thought leadership in the US Cash Management Space to help design and optimize the custody balance deliverable.
- Developing Business Process Maps.
- Developing capability maps to develop a list of business activities that are needed to meet a goal – for example in relation to Cash work for US custody balances/channels.
- Deliverable includes working with the team to implement a strategic Cash Platform for Custody Balances.
- Present on status to leadership.
- Drive activity in the US on behalf of the team in the UK to achieve the goals.
Skills – Must Haves:
- Technical business banking knowledge
- Experience standing up Banking platforms
- Experience standing up Accounting platforms
- Strong Program Management
- Cash and payments product and systems knowledge
- Connection of platforms and data feeds
- Understand the business process flow / model
- Experience with major banking transformation / modernization programs
- Strong technical knowledge / skills (50/50 business/IT skills
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate for technology (and vice versa)
- Excellent communication skills – presentation, verbal, written at a senior level
- Can work independently as well as part of a team (including team in UK time zones).
- Proactive – and willing to “roll up sleeves” to drive progres
- Attention to detail
- Working in an Agile environment
- Transformation experience – moving from a legacy model to a new more modern model
- Shift to “impact zones” with the US cash business moving to an enterprise banking model.
- The successful candidate will have experience with global financial services organizations as well as liquidity experience.
