JOB SUMMARY AND SCOPE:
Responsible for work on projects, or parts of a program with moderate to high complexity. Provides support to at least one business domain or product.
Partners with project teams, business, and technical partners to deliver value and achieve business strategies and objectives. The Senior Project Analyst will focus on supporting project delivery, including the elicitation of business requirements; working with technical teams to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solution, ensuring the business requirements are clearly understood and incorporated into the solution design; Conducts research and development of new concepts, and ideas, including the identification of any improvements or efficiencies to business processes, and governance.
This role partners and collaborates with cross-functional teams to validate plans and verifies the proposed solution aligns with the business requirements and is feasible from a technology standpoint through requirements traceability, User Acceptance and End-To-End Testing, and Business Unit Readiness/User Adoption Experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Business Needs Discovery
- Collaborates with project teams to define the business implications of various challenges and helps pinpoint measurable business value, ensuring that business strategies and goals are achieved.
- Understands business problems and supports the translation of business needs into detailed business requirements.
- Leads project teams to elicit current state workflows and develops desired future state that addresses business problem or emerging business needs.
- Uncovers needs that business, technology partners and end-users would not be able to articulate on their own and translates them into capabilities.
- Partners with the business and project teams to identify unique value drivers.
- Adapts to ambiguity and supports resolution of conflicts, issues, and risks to
- remove barriers within the project/program teams while continuing momentum.
- Ensures artifacts and deliverables adhere to quality standards.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance including bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws appropriate to the position.
- Solutions Management
- Collaborates with project and program teams to develop and convey the solution vision, while managing the prioritization of competing business needs to ensure the delivery of business value.
- Understands technological constraints, and clarifies the business rationale of a solution concept and recommends alternative solutions to a business need.
- Contributes to solution options and supports business partner decision making to minimize the amount of project investment divergence from target outcomes
- Develop Request for Proposals (RFP), including business needs and product/service expectations. Analyze and compare vendor responses, collate vendor risk assessments (financial, physical, and electronic security reviews).
- Partners with project teams to identify opportunities for creating reusable enterprise artifacts
- Communicates the value of new technologies and the tradeoffs between various solution options to meet business strategies and objectives
- Consulting
- Work with project teams to understand tradeoffs to achieving their targeted business outcomes
- Adjust expectations in accordance with changes in scope and navigates conflict between multiple business and technical partners
- Consults with business and technical partners to streamline work processes and maximize efficiencies to achieve business strategies and objectives
- Optimize business needs prioritization by influencing business and technology partners decisions to support iterative business value delivery
- Business Unit Readiness and User Adoption Experience
- Communicates effectively and identifies change plans across multiple areas to support project and organizational change objectives
- Works with project teams to identify an accurate view of challenges to end-user buy-in and ways to mitigate
- Facilitates communities of practice and project community forums to address ongoing needs for the project professional community. Supports the execution of ongoing efforts to improve program and project delivery in the EPMO department.
- Leverages industry-specific best practices or lessons learned to benefit the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Management Information Systems or Computer Science is strongly preferred. Advanced Degree in Business Administration or other related area is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum eight years of combined experience in project analysis, coordination and management with a minimum of five years of experience directly creating requirements and quality analysis. Experience supporting complex projects end-to-end required, preferably in a financial institution.
Must be able to work on own initiative.
Excellent business and technical analysis skills are required to support the implementation of enterprise-wide projects, prepare recommendations, perform analysis, and to accomplish other analyst functions as listed.
Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines; may be required to work extended hours to complete tasks.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification from the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) is desired.
