Job Title: Digital/Technical Product Manager
Location: Remote
Duration: 6 months, Contract-to-Hire

Job Summary

Heitmeyer Consulting is seeking a Technical Product Manager for our client.  As a Technical Product Manager at the bank, you are part of the business and will have a deep understanding of the business opportunities and strategic objectives for the Consumer Lending group. In partnership with the Value Stream Owner, IT/Data Architecture and IT Development teams you will translate the business objectives into recommendations for technology solutions and will create a clear and actionable plan/strategy to deliver those solutions. Presentation of the business case and recommended solutions to the Value Stream owner and stakeholders is an important activity to align the organization so superior communication and presentation skills are required. You will ensure that technical delivery teams understand the business context and goals behind the recommended solutions. This role combines technical product development, data analytics, process design, people leadership, creative thinking, and creation of effective requirements for the engineering teams. There will be close day-to-day involvement with Agile delivery teams – specifically Scrum Masters, Technical Leads, and Solution Architects. What are expectations for this role? Member Focus

  • Conduct Capability/Solution sessions with Technology to ensure the Business Intent is understood, architecture runway is developed, and planning occurs across multiple quarters
  • Guide team in development of detailed product features and requirements, and develop implementation plans
  • Oversee API governance processes and owns platform specific controls
  • Work closely with teams and resources to achieve milestones within established timeframes
  • Generate meaningful insights to inform platform improvements Internal
  • Oversee changes to platform environment and communicates API capabilities for strategic integration purposes
  • Lead highly complex or strategic initiatives typically requiring confidentiality and enterprise level visibility Relationship, People, and Professional Development
  • Create positive working relationships with all areas of Consumer Lending and bank peer groups

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to influence peers and leaders without formal authority
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams across geographies and business unit
  • Expertise in technical program/product management
  • Proven ability to make data-driven decisions while balancing product quality and speed-to-market
  • Proven leadership and ability to influence at all levels of management
  • Expert knowledge of Project Management/agile scrum process and agile product owner role
  • Expert knowledge in Business Case and CBA development
  • Proven ability to understand and discuss technology concepts, trade-offs and new opportunities with both business and technical team members

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong preference given to candidates with formal engineering backgrounds
  • Consumer Lending experience within Product or Transformation
  • Experience working through compliance and risk frameworks, building preventative and detective monitoring, and data analysis for issue identification and resolution

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field required
  • 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

Experience

  • 8-12 years experience in technical product development roles, whether as a technical product manager, software engineer, development manager, business analyst, architect or other technical position
