Director of Digital Quality Assurance

Location: NYC (preferred) or SF

Summary:

Heitmeyer Consulting is hiring a Director of Digital Quality Assurance. This person will be accountable for team adherence to prescribed testing processes, ensuring timely notification of issues/problems, reviewing escalated risks and issues, working with stakeholders to develop contingency plans, resolving risks, and escalating further as necessary. They will also oversee test case creation and test case execution to ensure test teams meet project timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor progress and allocate resources to assure project tasks are completed on schedule.
  • Acts as a consultant/resource to other areas of IT and the Business; promote and develop awareness of testing methodologies and standards.
  • Overseeing creation of testing strategies, plans, and project documentation using risk analysis methodologies and tools, aligning with development approach/methodology selected for the project.
  • Manage and support the team in creating reusable test assets for both manual and automated test scripts.
  • Understand and communicate testing impact of scope changes/project change requests to the project management team both from a timeline/cost and a risk perspective.

Qualifications

  • Adept at providing strong knowledge of QA methodology, best practices and processes while contributing to testing method and tool selection direction.
  • Strong understanding of automation methodologies, including TDD and BDD.
  • Readiness to work independently and often autonomously in the management of teams and operational disciplines and develop strategic thinking and planning in work plan execution.

Experience & Education

  • 10+ years QA Architect or Automation experience.
  • Leadership in growing team expertise to align with demand and business and technology direction; assess team capabilities, identify ways to provide and enhance value delivered.

The successful candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the ability to manage time effectively, coordinate multiple priorities, successfully resolve complex matters, easily understand processes/workflows, identify risks, and effectively tailor their communications to their audience in a clear and concise manner
