Job Title: Director of Loan Operations

Location: Richmond, VA

Heitmeyer Consulting is currently hiring a Director of Loan Operations to join one of our bank clients.  This individual will be accountable for all aspects of Loan Servicing Operations for Consumer, Business, Wholesale, and Mortgage loans.    The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Serves as a strategic partner with internal and external partners to ensure continuous uninterrupted support, including from critical third parties
  • Drive change and transformation
  • Defines a targeted operating model to drive efficiency and standardization
  • Designs and maintains a robust control environment
  • Works with technology partners to develop/design workflows and other tools used for automation
  • Resolves escalated issues and/or offers solutions
  • Manages complex issues associated with loan servicing operations
  • Follows trends in loan servicing operations and adapts them for application within the business
  • Manages compliance efforts to follow policies and procedures, as well as contributing to defining standards
  • Oversees all phases of loan servicing operations including:
    • Centralized Funding, Boarding, Syndications/Participations/Swaps, Equipment Leasing, SBA, Post-closing Review, Payment Processing, Loan Pledging, Escrow, Account Maintenance, Collateral, Insurance/Flood Tracking, Credit Bureau Disputes, Document Management
  • Builds and maintains a high performing, motivated team, providing leadership, coaching and direction
  • Supports a culture of continuous learning, improvement and process excellence

The incumbent will possess the following skills

  • 10+ years of strong operational management experience: concentration in Corporate/Commercial loan servicing but good familiarity with Consumer and Mortgage loan servicing as well
  • Broad knowledge of lending operations processes, procedures, applications and methods
  • Proficiency with systems and ability to understand system functions and business side set-up

· Experienced with various loan origination system such as MeridianLink and nCino, FIS Horizon Core loan account processing and industry third party provider related to forms, flood certification and escrow processing

  • Demonstrated ability to digest complex issues and develop creative solutions
  • Ability to analyze and partner with groups outside of direct organizational lines to ensure optimal end to end process
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in people management – in particular engaging and developing the team
  • Ability to multi-task and manage through complexity effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Very strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to develop concise and effective communications tailored to specific audiences
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
