Job Title: Mortgage Systems Support Helpdesk

Job Summary:

Heitmeyer Consulting is currently hiring for a Mortgage Systems Support Specialist for a bank in the Midwest.  They will be assisting the bank’s internal mortgage production team with helpdesk related tasks and be system subject matter expert to all employees utilizing the bank’s mortgage applications.   They will not be working with external customers or clients.  Hours will be standard banking hours, either 8am-5pm or 9am-6pm.  The bank operates on eastern standard time. This position will be on site.


  • Support the mortgage production team and the Empower loan origination system as well as Blend and other mortgage applications for internal users such as Loan Officers and Underwriters who are having system problems and validate if the user is reporting a true defect or a process issue.
  • Will assist with processing their widget style work like users who get locked out of system, need password reset, loan system changes that are approved and have standard steps, or assist in creating standard mortgage line of business distribution lists
  • Will assist in writing and documenting policies and procedures for the Empower loan origination system.
  • Will have a lot of exposure to various mortgage leadership and be an integral piece to increasing operational efficiencies with internal mortgage employees.

Required Skills:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills to collaborate with internal mortgage team members.
  • Strong problem solving, troubleshooting and decision-making abilities
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite
    • Especially Excel, basic understanding of VLookups, calculations, filtering, and pivot tables
  • Willingness to take initiative and learn new skills and technologies

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working in an application support helpdesk type position assisting internal employees or any Empower/mortgage experience, preferred but not required
  • Any Visio experience.
