Job Title:  Scrum Master  
Location:  Hybrid – 3 days per week on-site in San Francisco (Financial District) 

Heitmeyer Consulting is currently hiring a Scrum Master to support work with a national banking client for a digital platform modernization project.

Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Corporate Digital Channels PMO Program Director, the Scrum Master role manages the Digital Projects realm of Corporate Digital Channels.  The individual is extremely adaptable and could manage multiple highly complex projects.  The role requires exceptional communication skills and an ability to build and maintain working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved. 
 
Line of Business-Specific Requirements:  This person must have experience in implementing client facing digital technologies, preferably in the financial services or similarly regulated industry.

What you’ll do as a Scrum Master:

  • Facilitate the scrum process with cross functional impact that involve moderately complex projects, non-projects, or maintenance work
  • Guide the scrum teams to follow Agile and Scrum practices to actively promote prioritization, team readiness, and commitment for each Sprint
  • Optimize scrum team velocity to identify improvement opportunities to achieve higher levels of team performance
  • Deliver capabilities using agile practices while also following the Software Development Lifecycle, business process mapping, and various release processes as appropriate to ensure all risk, security, and development requirements are met
  • Partner with discipline managers about governance policies and adherence to corporate standards
  • Facilitate the Scrum Agile ceremonies for the teams
  • Collaborate with product owners, program, or project managers to communicate delivery of work product from the team and escalate key risks and issues impeding scrum team effectiveness
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Interact with internal customers
  • Receive direction from leaders and exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with Product Owner (PO) and Tech Owners (TO) to identify, summarize and capture the Product Vision, Roadmap, and Backlogs
  • Define and manage the Product Roadmap in JIRA: Idea to Initiative to EPIC to User Story
  • Partner with PO and TO on monthly progress update to present at Functional Lead meeting
  • Plan, facilitate and summarize new Product Increment planning events (done each quarter)
  • Help manage risks and dependencies crossing workstreams
  • Escalate and track impediments crossing workstreams
  • Provide Dashboard reporting to PO for bi-monthly Business Product Updates meeting as required

Qualifications
You could be a great fit if you have:

  • 4+ years of Practicing Agile Scrum Master experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years of Project Management experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge in systems integration and management
  • Business orientation with broad experience with banking processes, technology and change initiatives. Ability to exercise independent judgement and strategic thinking under a minimum of supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.  
  • Expertise in Jira and Confluence

Nice to have experience:

  • Detailed understanding of digital banking products and services (consumer and/or business, web and/or mobile applications)
  • Three or more years of experience that demonstrates an understanding of IT and/or banking operations systems and operations.
  • Experience with LucidChart, Figma, and SharePoint.
  • A Four-year degree and / or equivalent professional experience.
