Job Title: Sr. Software Engineer

Location:  100% remote

Heitmeyer Consulting is currently hiring a Sr. Software Engineer to join one of our bank clients.  This individual will be assigned to work with an internal system used by Customer Service Representative to service both Commercial and Pre-paid cards.  In the role, this individual will work closely with the Business Systems Analyst to understand the business objective and will develop and write code from scratch or modify existing code.  In addition, this individual will partner with the support team assigned to the platform. The selected candidate will possess the following skills:

Top Responsibilities:

• Owns the development, implementation, assessment, and support of one or more components of an environment, application, or platform.
• Develops clean, maintainable, testable code for work assigned
• Performs peer code reviews.
  Ensures the overall performance and availability of the platform
• Mentors and training junior resources
• Suggests ways to improve efficiency and reduce expenses.
• Contributes to technical documentation, specifications, and project artifacts

Required Skill:

• 3 – 5+ years strong Java experience

• Understands data relationships and impacts to data structure for analysis
• Strong SQL skills – can recommend stable structure to be sure things a build in an efficient way
• Able to create queries to be able to look at job processes / process improvement Mainframe

Preferred Skills:

• Prior card experience
• Banking experience
