Job Title: Principal Engineer – Network Operations
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer – Network Operations to provide 24×7 technical leadership and support for Enterprise Network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Ansible network automation, advanced troubleshooting, and hands-on experience with a wide range of network technologies and protocols. You will play a key role in driving operational excellence, incident response, and network automation initiatives in a complex and evolving enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead Major Incident Support efforts, coordinating cross-functional teams during critical network outages to ensure rapid resolution and clear communication.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues escalated from Tier-1 and Tier-2 support teams.

Conduct Root Cause Analyses (RCA) and drive corrective action implementation post-incident.

Collaborate with Platform Engineering teams to align network operations with broader infrastructure and development initiatives.

Develop and maintain technical documentation in alignment with Change Control and project management procedures.

Design and implement network automation workflows using Ansible, APIs, and Python scripting to enhance operational efficiency.

Mentor and train team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning.

Provide after-hours and on-call support as required.

Stay current on hardware, software, and emerging networking technologies and recommend improvements.
Must-Have Qualifications:

5+ years of experience supporting enterprise-level network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, DNS, and wireless systems.

Advanced expertise in Ansible for network automation is required.

Strong knowledge of network programmability using APIs, Ansible, and/or Python scripting.

In-depth knowledge of dynamic routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF).

Experience with network security tools, including Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco ISE (NAC).

Hands-on experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN) technologies such as SD-WAN, Cisco DNAC, NDO, and ACI.

Strong working knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating systems.

Proficient in SNMP, API-based monitoring, and SIEM tools like Splunk.

Demonstrated ability to support and architect across multiple infrastructure technologies.

Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.

Familiarity with industry best practices and internal policy compliance (e.g., HNB policies).
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

Experience in Agile/Kanban teams and alignment with ITIL practices.

Knowledge of cloud networking in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
-
Experience working in enterprise environments, preferably in banking or financial services.
