Job Title: Mainframe Engineer III

Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Engineer with strong z/OS systems expertise to support installation, customization, performance tuning, and system optimization in a Parallel Sysplex environment. The ideal candidate is a strong team player with mentoring capabilities and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, complex environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform z/OS system installation, SMP/E maintenance, and ISV customization

Support storage, networking, capacity planning, and performance tuning

Document procedures, manage changes, and ensure system stability

Analyze and resolve recurring issues to improve recovery time
-
Collaborate with application teams and provide mentoring to junior staff
-
Participate in 24×7 on-call rotation
Basic Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
-
5–10 years of z/OS engineering experience
-
Strong skills in SMP/E, debugging, and performance optimization
Preferred Skills:
-
MainView and zOSMF installation and maintenance
-
Experience with TCP/IP, storage management, and Coupling Facility
-
WLM tuning, SAS/MXG or zPCA performance reporting
-
ChangeMan administration and ISV software support
-
Familiarity with banking environments is a plus
