Job Summary:
Heitmeyer has banking client that has a need within their Software Quality Engineering team for an IT Tester to support a new Digital Banking product. This individual will work closely with line of business partners and across the technology organization to support the release of the product and support the end to end testing lifecycle. The role is available for full remote work.
Job Description:
The IT Tester will be responsible for supporting a new initiative to create a brand-new experience for customers within the digital channels. This role requires strong hands?on manual testing (iOS, Android, Web, API) paired with API automation experience and working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript test frameworks. The ideal candidate understands the distinctions between UI automation and Service/API automation, brings solid engineering discipline, and is comfortable working with emerging AI tools such as GitHub Copilot.
Required Experience
• API service automation experience (Required)
• Manual testing across iOS mobile, Android mobile, Web/Online banking, and APIs/services
• Strong TypeScript/JavaScript experience (Playwright, Appium, Cucumber, Chai, Axios, LambdaTest)
• Strong API testing skills (Postman, REST clients, JSON validation, auth flows)
• Clear understanding of UI automation vs. Service/API automation
• Experience writing and executing detailed test cases
• Agile Scrum experience
• Jira and Confluence proficiency
• Ability to monitor automation tests and improve output quality
• Team-first mindset with willingness to support across functions
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Experience
• UI automation experience (web and/or mobile)
• Knowledge of Python, Java, or JavaScript for automation
• Experience with digital banking, fintech, lending, or high-volume mobile apps
• SQL or data validation experience
• Familiarity with GitHub Copilot or agentic AI tools – through work or via personal project
• Experience stabilizing or expanding automation pipelines
Job Responsibilities
- Manual Testing
- Execute manual tests for iOS, Android, Web, and APIs/services
- Validate Paybridge workflows: eligibility, application, decisioning, disbursement, repayment, notifications, error handling
- API & Automation Testing
- Develop and maintain API service-level automation
- Contribute to UI automation where applicable
- Work with TypeScript/JavaScript frameworks: Playwright, Appium, LambdaTest, Cucumber, Chai, Axios
- Monitor and troubleshoot automation runs, improve stability and coverage
- Agentic AI / GitHub Copilot
- Use GitHub Copilot to generate or enhance test scripts
- Assist with documentation and test case creation
- Support internal chatbot solutions connected to Atlassian/Zephyr
- Agile Collaboration & Quality Engineering
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Write and maintain test cases and traceability
- Log defects with clarity and reproducibility
- Support rapid-release cycles and ensure high product quality
