Position Overview
Heitmeyer is seeking an experienced ETL Developer to join our Enterprise Data Warehouse team. In this role, you will help build and enhance data solutions that enable the organization to leverage data as a strategic asset. As a Lead Developer, you will design, develop, and optimize data pipelines while ensuring adherence to SDLC standards and collaborating across multiple technology teams.
Key technologies include AWS (EC2, Glue), Snowflake, Python, and IBM DataStage.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain ETL code following best practices and standards
- Translate business requirements and data mapping documents into technical designs
- Develop and execute unit tests; support system and regression testing efforts
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in testing and production environments
- Communicate project status, risks, and blockers to stakeholders
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends
- Mentor and support junior developers on the team
- Lead specific projects and contribute to overall delivery success
- Perform additional duties as needed
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 5+ years of ETL development experience within an enterprise data warehouse environment
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing best practices and standards
- 5+ years of experience with SQL, database programming, and analytics
- Hands-on experience with Python/PySpark, IBM DataStage, and ETL tools
- 3+ years of experience working with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), including migration projects
- Experience with Snowflake preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer)
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and data protection practices
- Experience developing data warehouse roadmaps and future-state architectures
- Proven ability to lead development teams or projects
- Prior experience in the financial services or banking industry
