Job Summary:
Heitmeyer has banking client that has a need within their Software Quality Engineering team for a Quality Engineer to support their Payment Transformation efforts. This individual will work closely with line of business partners and across the technology organization to support the release of the new functionality and support the end to end testing lifecycle. The role is available for full remote work.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of Quality Engineering / QA experience in enterprise environments
- Advanced testing methodologies:
- Black Box, White Box, and Grey Box testing
- BDD / TDD practices
- Strong experience with:
- Test case and test data management
- Defect triage and defect management
- Ability to test across unit, API, and UI layers
- Advanced proficiency with:
- Jira, Confluence, Zephyr
- API testing using Postman
- Low-code automation experience:
- Copado Robotic Testing
- TestComplete
- Intermediate Microsoft SQL Server skills for backend validation
- Strong communication, risk management, and problem?solving skills
- Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall SDLCs
Nice to Have Skills
- Payments domain experience:
- RTP, FedNow, Instant Payments
- ISO 20022 messages
- Payment lifecycle and exception handling
- Familiarity with:
- Salesforce
- FIS products
- Basic knowledge of:
- Cloud / infrastructure concepts
- Reporting tools such as Power BI
- Experience supporting large-scale modernization or transformation initiatives
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and execute testing strategies aligned to SDLC and delivery model
- Validate end-to-end payment processing flows, integrations, and controls
- Design, manage, and maintain test cases, data, and execution plans
- Apply BDD/TDD practices to improve quality earlier in the lifecycle
- Manage defect triage, prioritization, and resolution
- Perform API, UI, and backend testing to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Mentor junior Quality Engineers and support process improvements
- Engage stakeholders across Technology, Product, and Business teams
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality ownership
Ideal Background
- Senior or Lead Quality Engineer in banking or financial services
- Experience supporting transaction-based or payments platforms
- Comfortable operating in regulated, high?risk environments
