Job Title: Senior Category Strategist (Technology & Data Sourcing)
Overview
We are seeking a Senior Category Strategist to lead sourcing strategy and execution across technology and data-related categories. This role requires deep expertise in technology procurement, including software, SaaS, PaaS, and complex professional services. The ideal candidate brings a strategic mindset, strong negotiation capabilities, and the ability to influence stakeholders across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives across technology categories, including software, SaaS, PaaS, and complex services
- Develop and execute category strategies that drive cost optimization, innovation, and supplier performance
- Own and negotiate complex contracts, including Statements of Work (SOWs), MSAs, and licensing agreements
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business and technology stakeholders, aligning sourcing strategies with enterprise objectives
- Conduct market analysis, supplier benchmarking, and spend analysis to inform decision-making
- Manage supplier relationships and performance, ensuring value delivery and risk mitigation
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to best practices in category management
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of direct experience in technology sourcing or procurement
- Proven experience negotiating software, SaaS, PaaS, and complex professional services agreements
- Strong understanding of contract structures, licensing models, and vendor management
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead strategic sourcing initiatives independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a regulated industry such as banking or insurance
- Advanced proficiency in ExcelAlteryx and/or Power BI strongly preferred
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
