Senior Java Developer
Summary
The Senior Java Developer designs, develops, and supports enterprise APIs, microservices, integrations, and cloud-native applications. The role partners with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java/Spring Boot REST APIs and microservices
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Design API contracts, data models, security, logging, monitoring, and resiliency
- Build enterprise integrations and event-driven solutions using Kafka
- Develop and deploy applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Support cloud modernization and container-based applications
- Contribute to CI/CD and DevOps processes
- Troubleshoot complex application and production issues
- Participate in code reviews, Agile ceremonies, and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, vendors, and business teams
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years developing enterprise applications with Java/Spring Boot
- 3+ years developing REST APIs and microservices
- Experience with GCP, DevOps/CI-CD, Git, and Agile
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong Java, Spring Boot, REST, Spring MVC, J2EE, and microservices experience
- GCP experience with Cloud Run, GKE, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, or Terraform
- Kafka/event-driven architecture
- Docker/Kubernetes
- Jenkins, Maven, GitHub
- Swagger/OpenAPI, Postman
- REST, JSON, XML, and SOAP integrations
- Relational databases such as Oracle, DB2, MySQL, or SQL Server
- API security using OAuth2/JWT
- Experience with WebSphere, IBM ACE/IIB, DataPower, or similar integration technologies
- Experience troubleshooting distributed applications and leading technical initiatives
