Job Title: Operational Resilience Senior Specialist
Heitmeyer Consulting is currently seeking an Operational Resilience Senior Specialist for a contract-to-hire opportunity with one of our financial services clients. The Senior Specialist assists in developing, implementing, and maintaining strategies and standards, processes, and procedures for ensuring operational resilience of our client’s end-to-end most critical capabilities. Ideally, this individual will have worked with the ServiceNow Operation Resilience Management Module. Additionally, we are looking for someone who has worked within a Business Continuity ecosystem where there is a Minimum Viable Bank or Minimum Viable Company program. The incumbent participates in risk management analysis and assist with the creation of operational resilience analysis and plans. Works with business representatives, service owners, and IT teams to develop and execute testing processes to validate recovery plans and overall operational resilience of the organization. Works hand-in-hand with Enterprise Business Continuity to align plans and processes that will be implemented in the event of a disaster or other business interruption incident.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business and IT teams to align process maps, criticality, and recovery processes across end-to-end critical capabilities in alignment with FR 20-24 and FFIEC guidelines
- Consult and provide guidance to application teams, infrastructure teams, and architects to align current and future technologies with operational resilience controls, strategies, and standards
- Collaborate and consult with business and IT teams on development of operational resilience plans and other resilience documentation. Review and evaluate plans against standards for quality, provide feedback for operational improvement and alignment with standards
- Collaborate with peers, Cybersecurity, and second line of defense in the review and development of standards and recommendations for policies to meet FR 20-24, FFIEC guidelines, and operational resilience objectives
- Support development and delivery of monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and measures related to operational resilience
- Develop and deliver awareness and training (including online training content) programs to colleagues on operational resilience
- Support annual operational resilience exercises and exercise documentation – along with other exercises as assigned
- Collaborate with business partners and IT on the annual business impact analysis (BIA) process and risk analysis. Identify maturity enhancements and focus areas of operational resilience from the data collection and reporting
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience (5+ years in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Operational Resilience Programs)
- Experience working in a Business Continuity program that includes MVB (minimum viable bank) or MVC (minimum viable company).
- Working knowledge of regulatory guidance, including FRB 20-24, FFIEC Business Continuity Handbook, or related standards (ISO-22301, NIST)
- Knowledge of cloud and on-premise disaster recovery, ransomware, and business resumption technologies, processes and practices
- Ability to work under stressful conditions, such as tight time deadlines and business-related crises
- Ability to negotiate win-win agreements with stakeholders in complex situations
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in the Service Now Operational Resilience Management Module.
- Certification as a Certified or Master Business Continuity Professional (CBCP, MBCP) or Member of the Business Continuity Institute (MBCI)
- Experience in development of online training content
