SharePoint Online | Microsoft Teams | Power Platform | Two-Month Engagement
| Engagement Focus: Discover, organize, migrate, validate, document, and hand off Credit Modernization collaboration content into the established COT Product Organization environment. |
Job Summary
The Microsoft 365 Collaboration & Content Migration Consultant is responsible for independently planning and executing the discovery, organization, configuration, migration, initial validation, documentation, and handoff of Credit Modernization collaboration assets into the established COT Product Organization environment. The resource will work across SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, and related Microsoft 365 and Power Platform components to create an intuitive, maintainable collaboration framework aligned to the organization’s Product Management and Value Stream operating model.
This is a hands-on, junior-to-mid-level consulting role that is primarily administrative, information-architecture, configuration, and migration focused rather than custom-development focused. The successful candidate is a self-starter who works effectively with limited day-to-day direction, demonstrates strong ownership of deliverables, raises risks and decision needs promptly, and maintains complete and accurate migration records throughout the engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Discovery, Inventory & Migration Planning
- Identify the full population of in-scope SharePoint sites, Teams teams and channels, document libraries, folders, files, lists, pages, Forms, Power Apps, Power Automate flows, tabs, archives, permissions, and related dependencies.
- Create and maintain a complete current-state inventory, including source location, business purpose, ownership, audience, permissions, content volume, dependencies, proposed target, migration method, status, validation results, and exceptions.
- Document relationships between Microsoft Teams workspaces and their underlying SharePoint locations, including standard, private, and shared channels and separate permission boundaries.
- Develop clear source-to-target mappings, migration waves, cutover plans, change-control needs, validation steps, and user communications for approval by Integrated Planning.
- Identify duplicate, inactive, unclear, sensitive, or potentially obsolete content and escalate all disposition decisions. Do not independently archive, delete, exclude, consolidate, or decline to migrate content.
Information Architecture, Configuration & User Experience
- Preserve the established COT Product Organization Team and its functional and Value Stream channel structure while organizing migrated content according to current business ownership.
- Configure standard SharePoint pages, navigation, libraries, lists, views, quick links, metadata, permissions, and other approved components needed for an intuitive and sustainable user experience.
- Create a clear SharePoint-based front end that helps users find Value Streams, active and historical Feature collaboration, Integrated Planning, Product Operations, Intake and Portfolio Health resources, templates, governance materials, reporting resources, and ownership information.
- Apply consistent naming, navigation, permissions, and organization standards that improve findability without recreating unnecessary historical program structures.
- Use standard Microsoft 365 capabilities wherever practical and minimize dependence on custom development or specialized long-term support.
Migration Execution, Validation & Reconciliation
- Migrate or recreate approved documents, channel discussions, pages, lists, Forms, Power Apps, Power Automate flows, tabs, navigation, permissions, and related collaboration assets using approved and technically supported methods.
- Preserve active, upcoming, completed, and historical Feature collaboration, including discussion history and related institutional knowledge, under the applicable Value Stream structure.
- Coordinate phased migration waves, content freezes or change-control steps, and communications that clearly identify the authoritative working location during each stage.
- Validate migration completeness, accessibility, permissions, placement, searchability, links, usability, and functionality; reconcile every discovered source to an approved target or documented decision.
- Maintain migration execution logs, decision and approval registers, exception and residual-content records, access validation results, and a user-facing migration status tracker.
- Resolve feasible migration issues within the engagement and document unresolved constraints, owners, required decisions, and recommended next actions.
Documentation, Communication & Knowledge Transfer
- Communicate progress, risks, technical limitations, dependencies, exceptions, and decision needs promptly and clearly to Integrated Planning and other stakeholders.
- Prepare user-friendly navigation guidance, administrator and governance documentation, migration reconciliation materials, access and permission documentation, and validation procedures.
- Deliver a complete handoff package supporting the subsequent internal read-only validation period and future decommissioning readiness.
- Conduct structured knowledge-transfer sessions so Integrated Planning can administer the environment using standard capabilities immediately after the engagement.
- Take end-to-end ownership for assigned deliverables, proactively manage work to completion, and perform other related duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- Practical experience administering and configuring SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams in a business environment.
- Experience performing structured content or collaboration-platform migrations, including discovery, inventory, source-to-target mapping, execution, validation, reconciliation, and documentation.
- Working knowledge of Teams and SharePoint relationships, including channels, sites, libraries, lists, pages, permissions, groups, navigation, metadata, and content organization.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Forms, Power Apps, and Power Automate, including connections, owners, permissions, environments, and dependencies.
- Ability to independently organize and track a large volume of sites, channels, files, lists, links, dependencies, decisions, issues, and exceptions.
- Demonstrated ability to work with limited day-to-day direction while maintaining a strong sense of ownership, accountability, urgency, and follow-through.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and detail-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical constraints, document decisions, and create clear user and administrator guidance.
- Ability to appropriately handle business content and access information and to escalate disposition or ownership decisions rather than acting without approval.
Preferred Skills
- Experience designing practical information architecture, navigation, and findability solutions in SharePoint Online.
- Experience migrating Microsoft Teams channels, conversations, tabs, permissions, and related SharePoint content while preserving business context.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 migration tools or approved migration utilities and an understanding of common migration limitations and remediation approaches.
- Experience inventorying or transitioning Power Platform solutions, including SharePoint lists, Forms, Power Apps, Power Automate flows, connection references, and service accounts.
- Experience creating migration wave plans, cutover communications, status trackers, validation scripts or checklists, reconciliation packages, and knowledge-transfer materials.
- Understanding of least-privilege access, delegated ownership, access recertification, and sustainable business administration practices.
- Experience working within Product Management, Agile delivery, portfolio management, financial services, or other regulated enterprise environments.
- Comfort working across business and technical stakeholders, surfacing ambiguity, and driving assigned work to a documented conclusion.
Engagement Parameters
- One consulting resource for a two-month migration engagement.
- Engagement concludes with approved migration work, initial validation, reconciliation, documentation, and knowledge transfer to Integrated Planning.
- The role does not include ongoing administration after handoff, participation in the subsequent three-month internal read-only validation period, final decommissioning, creation of future Feature Channels, enterprise-wide SharePoint redesign, or unrelated custom application development.
- The consultant may present options and recommendations but does not have independent authority to archive, delete, exclude, consolidate, or choose not to migrate content.
Measures of Success
- A complete discovery inventory and approved source-to-target migration plan are maintained and traceable.
- Approved collaboration content and context are migrated into one authoritative, intuitive, and sustainable future-state environment.
- Users can find active and historical information without relying on knowledge of the former Credit Modernization structure.
- Migration status, exceptions, residual content, permissions, validation results, and open decisions are clearly documented.
- Integrated Planning receives sufficient documentation and knowledge transfer to assume ownership immediately after the engagement.
