Overview
We are seeking an experienced, functional Project/Program Manager to support our large banking client’s transformation and automation of manual regulatory reporting processes, driving improved efficiency, governance, and reporting accuracy. This role is a highly visible role requiring strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, unstructured environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and own end-to-end project plans from initiation through execution
- Manage the transformation and automation of manual reporting processes supporting Axiom and Workiva
- Coordinate across Finance, Technology, and Transformation teams in a hybrid Agile/Waterfall environment
- Establish and maintain strong governance frameworks, including:
- Project plans and timelines
- RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies)
- Status reporting and executive-level updates
- Proactively identify risks and drive timely mitigation strategies
- Ensure strict adherence to deadlines and project milestones
- Drive accountability across cross-functional teams and maintain execution momentum
Must-Have Qualifications
- 10+ years of Project/Program Management experience (more functional thank technical)
- Proven experience supporting large-scale transformation or implementation initiatives within a bank or financial institution
- Experience in regulatory reporting environments
- Familiarity with Axiom and/or Workiva (functional understanding required; hands-on not mandatory)
- Strong governance and stakeholder management experience across Finance and Technology teams
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously in complex environments
- Experience working with one or more project management and workflow tools (Jira, Planner, Power Apps, Power BI)
- Highly proactive with a “figure it out” mindset
- Decisive, assertive, and execution-driven (not passive)
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Comfortable operating in unstructured or evolving environments
- Ability to hold teams accountable and keep initiatives on track
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver clear updates to senior stakeholders
- Strong sense of urgency. Understands that timelines are non-negotiable
Nice-to-Have
- Experience supporting or leading an Axiom or Workiva implementation
