Job Summary: 
Heitmeyer has banking client that has a need within their Quality Engineering organization for a Quality Engineer to run quality checks within the Cloud environment.  The role is open for full remote and is targeting a June 2025 start date.  

Job Description: 
The Quality Engineer will use their research, troubleshooting and analytical skills to create, maintain and execute test cases regarding the business processes and procedures to ensure high quality levels.           

Top Required Skills: 

  1. Require previous Quality Engineering experience within Cloud environment – focus on GCP.  
  2. Experience testing of infrastructure and/or Cloud Technologies – Migrations, Microservices, APIs etc.
  3. Intermediate Understanding of software coding principles/standards and architecture
  4. Awareness of a DevOps environment and overall source code management tools – git, GitHub, BitBucket, TFS version control.
  5. Intermediate Research and Troubleshooting skills along with strong attention to detail 
  6. Strong Verbal and written communication skills
  7. SDLC (agile, waterfall, etc.) and overall development practices – IDE, source control, unit testing, quality standards.  
  8. Intermediate experience with API testing and knowledge of API calls through jar and capture response.  
  9. Test Data Creation and Maintenance across testing methods (regression, end-to-end, exploratory, boundary)

Nice to Have Skills: 

  • Beneficial to have background with testing automation, Ruby, Selenium, Low Code options.
  • Prefer background with SQL queries.  
  • Professional certifications preferred – ISTQB, CTFL, CSTE, CSQA

Top Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality checks on Cloud environment and applications.  
  • Work with leadership to establish direction and expectations while delivering expected results in a timely fashion.
  • Create, maintain and execute test cases across application platforms to verify acceptance criteria and ensure consistent quality.
  • Detect, analyze and report meaningful defects from failed testing results and support automated testing initiatives.
  • Review actionable metrics and contribute to defect detection improvements to reduce escaped defects.
  • Collaborate with product team on application user experience improvement and efficiency opportunities.
  • Complete and contribute to quality documentation and artifact tasks to support adherence of audit process and procedures.
  • Maintain and grow updated knowledge of industry trends and advancements.
  • Assist in triaging automated test results.
