Title: Lead Platform Automation Engineer
Location: Plano/Dallas preferred (or within 60 miles of a Bread location)
Schedule: Hybrid – 1–2 days onsite per week | 8am–4:30pm CST
Overview:
Seeking a Lead Platform Automation Engineer to design and implement scalable test automation frameworks, tools, and CI/CD integrations that ensure the delivery of high-quality fintech solutions. This hands-on leadership role drives quality engineering best practices, mentors junior engineers, and collaborates closely with DevOps and product teams to advance automation maturity and shift-left testing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead design and implementation of test automation frameworks and data management tools

• Define and enforce testing standards, automation strategy, and CI/CD integration

• Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams to optimize test environments

• Mentor engineers, promote TDD/BDD practices, and champion quality-first culture

• Research and adopt emerging automation technologies

Top Skills:

• Strong programming/coding skills (Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.)

• Expertise in test automation frameworks and DevOps concepts

• Experience with Cypress, API automation, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS

• Proficiency with agile development, Git, and debugging tools

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

• 8+ years in Software Engineering, DevOps, or Quality Engineering (12+ preferred)

Additional Info:

• Reports to: Senior Manager+

• Travel: Up to 5% quarterly
