About the Role:
Heitmeyer is seeking an experienced Training Leader to design, lead, and execute enterprise-wide training initiatives for a banking client undergoing an IBS core banking system conversion. This role combines strategic training leadership with robust project management expertise, ensuring training programs are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex training programs that drive adoption, minimize risk, and ensure operational readiness across all banking functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead enterprise-wide training strategy for IBS core banking conversions, ensuring alignment with project milestones, regulatory requirements, and organizational goals.
- Serve as training project manager, overseeing timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk mitigation for all training deliverables.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, status reports, and stakeholder communications to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Partner with project teams, SMEs, and business leaders to assess learning needs and develop comprehensive training plans for diverse banking audiences (retail, commercial, operations, IT).
- Design and oversee the development of role-based curricula, including instructor-led training (ILT), virtual ILT (vILT), eLearning, microlearning, and performance support tools.
- Implement train-the-trainer programs and enablement strategies to scale delivery across branches and corporate functions.
- Manage LMS administration for training deployment, tracking, and compliance reporting.
- Develop and execute communication plans to support change adoption and readiness.
- Establish evaluation frameworks to measure training effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure all training content meets regulatory, compliance, and accessibility standards.
- Collaborate with change management teams to integrate training into broader transformation initiatives.
- Provide leadership and guidance to instructional designers, facilitators, and vendor partners.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in training leadership, instructional design, or learning program management, with a focus on banking or financial services.
- Proven experience leading enterprise-wide training initiatives for IBS core banking conversions or similar large-scale system implementations.
- Strong project management skills, including experience with project planning tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar), risk management, and stakeholder reporting.
- PMP or similar certification preferred.
- Expertise in adult learning principles, ADDIE methodology, and agile learning approaches.
- Proficiency with LMS platforms (Cornerstone, SuccessFactors, Blackboard) and eLearning tools (Articulate 360, Captivate, Camtasia, Vyond).
- Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with IBS core banking systems and banking operations (retail, lending, deposits, payments).
- Experience with change management frameworks (e.g., Prosci).
- Strong analytical skills for data-driven decision-making and reporting.
