Overview
While remaining hands-on in back-end development and integration, this individual will also be responsible for the architecture and design of prod and DR environments (infrastructure, integrations, data, and applications), and translate them into actionable designs for development and delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

Hands-on coding in Java and solution architecture across application, integration, data, infrastructure, and security
Solution design environments for an on-prem VMbased platform with a path toward hybrid/cloud and OpenShift containerization.
Convert high-level architecture into detailed designs, build standards, and implementation guides.
Develop event streaming (Kafka), database design (MS SQL Server), APIs, middleware, and batch/real-time integrations.
Define data flows, resiliency, fault tolerance, and recovery strategies.
Partner with infrastructure/DevOps to design CI/CD pipelines, environment provisioning, monitoring, logging, and observability.
Ensure platform meets enterprise standards for availability, scalability, security, compliance, and disaster recovery.
Act as primary technical advisor to program leadership.
Support vendor evaluations and mentor technical team members.

Required Skills

10+ years in software engineering including 5+ years in senior/principal or technical lead roles.
Background in banking or payments or card processing; understanding of high-availability and regulatory requirements.
Strong hands-on development experience with Java, Spring Boot/Cloud, microservices, REST APIs, event-driven patterns.
Experience creating solution design architecture from scratch
Experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes, Kafka, MS SQL Server, and on-prem virtualized environments (VMware).

Preferred Qualifications
