Heitmeyer Consulting has a banking client that has a need within their Chief Data Office for a strong Data Product Analyst to support the analysis and migration of multiple disparate data sources into the AWS environment with expert knowledge of SQL, Medallion Architecture and Snowflake.  Role must be based in Dallas, TX.

Top Required Skills:

  1. Expert SQL skills with ability to write and optimize complex queries across large datasets.
  2. Hands-on experience ingesting data into AWS (S3, Glue, Athena, Lambda, Redshift, EMR, or equivalent) and strong background with Snowflake.
  3. Strong understanding of Medallion Architecture (Bronze – Silver – Gold).
  4. Experience executing smoke tests of initial data pipelines and ensuring data quality.  
  5. Experience extracting and modeling data from Microsoft SQL Server.
  6. Proven track record working within agile/scrum frameworks.
  7. Ability to diagnose data ingestion or modeling issues from source through cloud landing zones.
  8. Excellent documentation capability (data dictionaries, metadata, lineage).

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in banking or financial services.
  • Exposure to fraud data across deposits, loans, ATM, or digital channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ingest data from diverse operational systems—primarily Microsoft SQL Server—into the AWS Bronze layer following best practices for quality, performance, and lineage.
  • Support data refinement and transformation through Silver and Gold layers within a Medallion Architecture.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to source data anomalies, AWS ingestion constraints, pipeline performance, and platform-level challenges.
  • Participate in enterprise data migration efforts and modernization initiatives within AWS and leveraging Snowflake.
  • Execute smoke tests of initial data pipelines and ensure high data quality standards.    
  • Develop and optimize advanced SQL for profiling, validation, and data transformation.
  • Partner with Architects and Data Modelers to align data structures, business logic, and operational use cases.
  • Ensure data documentation—including data dictionaries, lineage, metadata, and quality rules—is complete and accurate.
  • Collaborate with the Data Product Owner to convert business needs into actionable user stories.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data architecture and ingestion patterns.
