Overview

We are seeking a Test Data Engineer for our regional banking client to support QA and testing efforts by providing high-quality, compliant, and readily available test data across teams. This role will focus on sourcing, extracting, masking, provisioning, and automating test data processes across lower environments, working closely with QA, development, and delivery teams in an Agile environment.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in QA/testing, deep SQL and data experience, exposure to automation, and a passion for improving test data availability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Fulfill test data requests across multiple teams and initiatives
• Source, extract, mask, and provision test data for use in lower environments
• Automate repeatable test data processes to improve efficiency and reliability
• Execute complex SQL queries across various database platforms to validate and prepare data
• Support API testing by preparing and validating data needed for integrations
• Collaborate with QA, development, and delivery teams in an Agile environment
• Track work and document activities using Jira and related Agile tooling

Must?Have Skills:

• 7+ years of experience in QA, testing, data engineering, or related roles
• Strong SQL skills with hands-on experience querying relational databases
• Experience working with APIs in a testing or data support capacity
• Exposure to automation (any framework or tooling preferred, including personal or self?driven projects)
• Experience working in Agile environments using Jira or similar tools
• Strong documentation skills and attention to detail

Nice to Haves: 

• Hands-on experience with test data management tools such as K2View, Broadcom Test Data Manager, or GenRocket
• Understanding of data masking, obfuscation, and data provisioning concepts
• Mainframe data experience
• Familiarity with Copilot, Gemini, or similar AI-assisted development tools
• Experience working in banking or other regulated industries
