Principal Architect – Business & Technology Architecture
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Principal Architect to drive the alignment of business strategy, technology capabilities, and enterprise architecture across the organization. This role will serve as a key advisor to business and technology leaders, helping shape application modernization, digital transformation, and enterprise architecture initiatives within a complex financial services environment.
The ideal candidate brings deep banking industry expertise, strong business architecture capabilities, and a proven track record of leading large-scale modernization efforts while navigating regulatory and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with business and technology leaders to develop and execute enterprise architecture strategies that support organizational objectives.
• Lead the development and maintenance of business capability models, value streams, process architectures, and target-state roadmaps.
• Drive application modernization initiatives, including legacy platform assessments, rationalization efforts, cloud adoption strategies, and technology transformation programs.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects, solution architects, product teams, and engineering organizations to ensure alignment between business goals and technology solutions.
• Facilitate strategic workshops to identify capability gaps, modernization opportunities, process improvements, and regulatory considerations.
• Support technology investment planning, portfolio prioritization, and governance activities.
• Ensure architecture practices align with regulatory requirements, risk management standards, and internal governance frameworks.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends, including AI, cloud-native architectures, APIs, automation, and digital banking capabilities.
• Establish and promote architecture standards, best practices, and modernization frameworks across the enterprise.
• Influence executive stakeholders by communicating architectural strategies, business impacts, and transformation roadmaps.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, business architecture, business analysis, or technology strategy within banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of banking products, operations, technology platforms, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience leading application modernization, digital transformation, or enterprise architecture initiatives in a regulated environment.
• Demonstrated expertise with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, BIZBOK, or similar methodologies.
• Experience developing business capability models, target operating models, and strategic technology roadmaps.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage both technical and business audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications such as TOGAF, CBAP, Certified Business Architect (CBA), or PMP.
• Experience supporting core banking modernization, digital banking platforms, customer onboarding transformation, or open banking initiatives.
• Knowledge of cloud-native architectures, microservices, APIs, containerization, and modern integration patterns.
• Experience with enterprise architecture tools such as LeanIX, Ardoq, Sparx Enterprise Architect, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with Agile, product-centric delivery models, and enterprise transformation programs.
