Senior Java Developer

Summary

The Senior Java Developer designs, develops, and supports enterprise APIs, microservices, integrations, and cloud-native applications. The role partners with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java/Spring Boot REST APIs and microservices
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Design API contracts, data models, security, logging, monitoring, and resiliency
• Build enterprise integrations and event-driven solutions using Kafka
• Develop and deploy applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Support cloud modernization and container-based applications
• Contribute to CI/CD and DevOps processes
• Troubleshoot complex application and production issues
• Participate in code reviews, Agile ceremonies, and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, vendors, and business teams
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years of software development experience
• 5+ years developing enterprise applications with Java/Spring Boot
• 3+ years developing REST APIs and microservices
• Experience with GCP, DevOps/CI-CD, Git, and Agile
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong Java, Spring Boot, REST, Spring MVC, J2EE, and microservices experience
• GCP experience with Cloud Run, GKE, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, or Terraform
• Kafka/event-driven architecture
• Docker/Kubernetes
• Jenkins, Maven, GitHub
• Swagger/OpenAPI, Postman
• REST, JSON, XML, and SOAP integrations
• Relational databases such as Oracle, DB2, MySQL, or SQL Server
• API security using OAuth2/JWT
• Experience with WebSphere, IBM ACE/IIB, DataPower, or similar integration technologies
• Experience troubleshooting distributed applications and leading technical initiatives
