Trade Settlement & Allocation Analyst
Location: Hybrid (Columbus, OH or Chicago, IL)
Employment: Contract to Hire

Responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely allocation, correction, and settlement of securities transactions across multiple asset classes and markets. This role requires close coordination with internal teams, clients, custodians, clearing firms, and external counterparties to resolve discrepancies, manage risk, and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily trade allocation, affirmation, correction, and settlement processes in compliance with T+1 regulations.

  • Process and reconcile trades across multiple asset classes (including MBS, TBA, Pools, DTCC, FICC, and Fedwire).

  • Identify, investigate, and resolve trade discrepancies, exceptions, and operational issues with internal teams, clients, and counterparties.

  • Monitor margin activity, collateral management, and lifecycle events of securities.

  • Validate and reconcile regulatory reporting (TRACE, MSRB, CAT) to ensure compliance.

  • Create and maintain procedures, documentation, and job aids to support consistency and risk mitigation.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, custodians, and clearing firms to support smooth operations.

  • Support ad hoc projects, audits, and process improvements while assisting in training and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • 2–5 years of experience in trade operations, settlements, or allocations.

  • FINRA Series 7 required; SIE/Series 99 a plus.

  • Strong understanding of securities markets, trading systems, and settlement processes.

  • Experience with mortgage-backed securities (TBA, Pools) and Bloomberg/TOMS/CTM preferred.

  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting and industry compliance standards.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
