Job Title: Regulatory Onboarding Specialist  
Job Summary:
Heitmeyer Consulting is currently seeking a Regulatory Onboarding Specialist for a remote, long-term contract opportunity with one of our financial services clients. The selected individual will understand customer onboarding within the Commercial Bank. This role is critical in ensuring clients are onboarded in accordance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in CDD/EDD, AML/BSA, CIP, BOCP, and KYC, and will support assigned business units by validating and reviewing client documentation, conducting third-party research, and ensuring risk and compliance standards are met.

Job Responsibilities:

• Support commercial banking business units in the onboarding of new clients, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and internal policy requirements.
• Review and validate Customer Identification Program (CIP) documents, Know Your Customer (KYC) profiles, and Beneficial Ownership Certification Program (BOCP) forms.
• Conduct Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews as required by client risk profiles.
• Perform independent third-party research using public and proprietary sources to identify potential red flags and verify client information.
• Maintain clear and thorough documentation of all onboarding activities and findings.
• Apply regulatory knowledge of AML/BSA, CIP, BOCP, and KYC rules and standards to onboarding practices.
• Execute quality control (QC) reviews of onboarding cases to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Identify and escalate any unusual or potentially suspicious activity to compliance leadership as appropriate.
• Collaborate with compliance, legal, and business teams to resolve onboarding issues in a timely manner.
• Stay current on relevant regulations, industry trends, and best practices.
• Utilize Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and due diligence tools to perform day-to-day responsibilities effectively.

Required Skills:

• 3+ years of experience in commercial banking with a focus on regulatory onboarding, compliance, or KYC/CDD functions.
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of AML/BSA, CIP, BOCP, CDD/EDD, and KYC regulatory frameworks.
• Strong understanding of the commercial client onboarding lifecycle and associated risk factors.
• Experience using third-party due diligence platforms (e.g., Orbis, LexisNexis, Accuity, or similar).
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple onboarding cases concurrently and meet deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
