Job Title: Sr. Project Manager  
Job Summary:
Heitmeyer Consulting is currently seeking a Sr. Project Manager contract opportunity with one of our financial services. This individual will lead and deliver on a large, complex business integration initiative. This role focuses on business-side project management—not technology—and will play a critical role in driving efforts across Credit Card, Debit Card, Treasury Management, and Merchant Services functions.
The ideal candidate thrives in complex, fast-paced environments, is exceptional at keeping multiple teams aligned and accountable, and has demonstrated success in managing integration activities through mergers and acquisitions (M&A). This individual is a proactive, highly organized problem-solver who anticipates challenges, communicates effectively, and ensures projects move forward seamlessly.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage large-scale, cross-functional business transformation and integration programs across key lines of business such as Credit Card, Debit Card, Treasury Management, and Merchant Services.
  • Serve as the central coordinator for all business-related impacts (process, people, operations, policy, and customer experience) associated with transformation or M&A initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, milestones, timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful execution and delivery.
  • Drive accountability among stakeholders and workstreams—herding cats to keep complex efforts organized, aligned, and progressing on schedule.
  • Anticipate project risks, dependencies, and next steps; take proactive action to mitigate issues before they arise.
  • Coordinate and facilitate discussions across multiple functional areas including Product, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Customer Experience.
  • Partner closely with leadership and business owners to define project scope, business requirements, and success metrics.
  • Provide clear, concise, and consistent communication to all levels of stakeholders, including executive reporting and status updates.
  • Support post-merger integration activities, ensuring operational readiness, business continuity, and customer impact mitigation.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, organization, and proactive problem-solving within all project teams.

Required Skills:

  • 8–10+ years of project management experience in the financial services industry, with proven experience managing large, complex business transformation or integration projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in Credit Card, Debit Card, Treasury Management, or Merchant Services programs.
  • M&A experience strongly preferred—leading or supporting business integration workstreams during merger or acquisition efforts.
  • Strong understanding of business operations, customer impacts, and regulatory considerations in financial services.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Outstanding communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills—comfortable influencing at all levels, including executives.
  • Highly proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to anticipate project needs and next steps without direction.
