Overview

We are seeking a Principal Consultant to support a high risk regulatory reporting production function within a large financial institution’s Accounting/Finance organization. This role will be responsible for managing the preparation and submission of Federal Reserve regulatory filings, with an immediate focus on strengthening risk, controls, and governance across the reporting process.

This is a hands on, execution oriented engagement intended to stabilize and elevate a critical reporting process over a 90 day period, working closely with Finance leadership and production teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage a high risk regulatory reporting production process, including the preparation and submission of filings to the Federal Reserve Bank
  • Lead the assessment, design, and enhancement of controls, including:
    • Review and validation checks
    • Documentation of control execution
    • Identification of gaps and remediation planning
  • Identify reporting anomalies and data inconsistencies; drive root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Guide and instruct team members to ensure adherence to regulatory expectations and control standards
  • Partner with Finance stakeholders to improve process discipline as the organization transitions from manual inputs to more automated, straight through processing

Must Have Requirements

  • Experience reporting into the Accounting or Finance organization within a bank or large financial institution
  • Deep, hands on knowledge of FR Y 14Q and FR Y 14M regulatory reporting processes
  • Strong risk and controls expertise, including:
    • Control design and documentation
    • Remediation planning and execution
  • Technical data background with the ability to:
    • Read and understand SQL
    • Assess data lineage, sourcing, and flows
    • Interrogate data for accuracy and completeness
  • Proven ability to guide, mentor, and direct team members, particularly in regulated environments
