Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Pega Developer to join our large banking client’s a high-performing Agile team supporting critical application development initiatives. This role will focus on building new Pega applications, enhancing existing solutions, and contributing to ongoing modernization efforts, including cloud and platform-related initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Pega development, understanding of architecture concepts and integration design, strong technical problem-solving abilities, and the capability to work independently within a collaborative Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, configure, and customize Pega applications
- Build new applications and enhance existing Pega solutions
- Develop integrations between Pega and external systems
- Participate in application design and technical solution discussions
- Collaborate with Agile team members to deliver high-quality software solutions
- Perform hands-on development activities across the software development lifecycle
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues while ensuring application performance and scalability
- Work independently on assigned development tasks with minimal oversight
- Support ongoing platform modernization and upgrade initiatives
Required Qualifications
- 8 to 10+ years of hands-on Pega development experience
- Strong expertise with Pega Rules Process Commander (PRPC) and Pega application development
- Proven experience developing, configuring, customizing, and integrating Pega applications
- Solid understanding of application architecture concepts and integration design
- Pega certification required (Business Systems Architect certification may also be considered)
- Experience working within Agile development environments
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Banking or financial services industry experience
- Experience supporting cloud migration, platform modernization, or large-scale application transformation initiatives
- Familiarity with Pega 8.8 environments
What This Role Does Not Include
- Production support responsibilities
- Primary architecture ownership or principal architect-level duties
Ideal Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will bring a stable work history (no job hopping), demonstrated commitment to long-term engagements, and deep technical expertise in Pega development. Candidates with experience in banking or financial services environments will be highly regarded.
