Job Title: Sr. Python Developer
Job Summary:

Heitmeyer Consulting is currently seeking an experienced Sr. Python Developer for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our financial services clients. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment and has strong experience building and supporting APIs while working within a Java-based ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable APIs using Python
• Provide application and file-level support within a Java-based environment
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues across systems and integrations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile framework to deliver high-quality solutions
• Support migration efforts from legacy applications to new platforms
• Manage and prioritize a backlog of work, including post-migration cleanup and optimization tasks
• Ensure system reliability, performance, and maintainability throughout the development lifecycle

Basic Qualifications:

• Extensive experience developing APIs using Python
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and fix issues efficiently
• Experience working in Java-based environments, particularly in application and file support
• Familiarity with agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
• Proven ability to manage workload and backlog in a structured and organized manner
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in SQL for data querying, analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in financial services or highly regulated environments
• Exposure to application migration projects and post-migration support
• Knowledge of system integration and data flow across distributed systems
